Behaviour Modification, Forever.

Professor Susan Michie who is the director of The Centre for Behaviour Change, head of The Health Psychology Research Group, both posts at University College London. She also leads the Human Behaviour-Change Project funded by the Wellcome Trust. She has served as president of the European Health Psychology Society and chair of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Health Psychology.
Susan Michie is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies AKA SAGE, now specifically the SAGE sub-group the Scientific Pandemic Insights group on Behaviour (SPI-B) where her interest, qualifications and experience in experimental psychology and behaviour modification were obviously key in landing that role.
What a busy bee. But it doesn’t end there. She is also a member of the unironically named “Independent SAGE”, the Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies that is allegedly not affiliated to the Government, but is Chaired by Sir David Anthony King a former Government Chief Scientific Advisor and has among it’s members Martin McKee the creator of the WHO collaborating European Centre on Health of Societies in Transition, Anthony Costello an ex-director of the WHO, Karl Friston who is a Scientific Director at the Wellcome Trust, and Tolullah Oni who is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader who has also worked with the UN and WHO. They’re “Independent” only in the sense that they aren’t literally a UK Government department, but you can rest assured via all kinds of State funding, grants and connections with global organisations all receiving billions from taxpayers of UN and WHO member nations they are anything but “independent”.
Susan Michie still manages to find time to be a member of the Communist Party of Britain, although presumably she has a bit more time on her hands now she’s not married to fellow member of the Communist Party of Britain Andrew Murray, the ex Jeremy Corbyn adviser and rather well-to-do son of Peter Drummond-Murray of Mastrick, the Scottish aristocrat. Nothing screams anti-bourgeoisie Communism than being a hereditary peer worth millions, but I guess being an apologist for Stalin gets you some red stars or something that will offset that evil capitalist wealth you were born into.
Our Susan also regularly guests on TV these days whenever an “expert” in human behaviour is needed, or just some outright propaganda as to the dangers of going about normal life is required. She recently stated on a Channel 5 interview that masks and social distancing should remain “forever”.
As you can see, she couldn’t say it with a straight face. You can decide if this was unfettered glee or a tinge of self-awareness at the sheer ridiculousness of her assertion. Her credentials do lend themselves to the idea of her quite enjoying the being the architect and voice of a complete transformation of social behaviours and the symbolic muzzling of all those behaviour-modified tax cattle she is now presiding over from her ivory tower. But equally it could be that she was unable to modify her behaviour enough to not laugh out loud at the obvious insanity she’d just verbalised.
Either way, there was no seriousness to it. No grave looks and solemn tones explaining that things are so bad this is the only way. Nope. Just a laugh. Just like Neil Ferguson, Dominic Cummings and others that have been caught not sticking to the rules they have either helped create or enforce, she clearly doesn’t actually believe there is a serious threat. This is just ideologically driven behaviour modification that the UK Government is only too happy to utilise to keep this nonsense going.
It will only end when the public in enough numbers stop obeying, and stop allowing people like Michie having so much control over their lives for no good reason. For as long as the public lets them, these control freaks will carry on. It should have never got to this, but now we need to put and end to it once and for all.
